Five Freak'in Years Later.

Holycow. Who would have thunk this website is still up and running. Don't they delete idle accounts?

Anyways peeps, it's FIVE FRIGGIN' YEARS later and guess what ... over coffee with Travel Guy #2 on the weekend (yes we are still friends), we discussed New York. Oh how we missed the city. We talked about how little we did at nights (really? all i remember is you making me walk 20 blocks to the Empire State Building that night. I'm just sayin'.), and how we missed going to see the Harlem Boys Choir (Dude, they have since disbanded).

I've heard stories from people about being drawn back to the Big Apple. I get it. Over the last 5 years i have contemplated returning for another visit. Winter this time. I haven't seen snow yet, it's time. I can feel it in my bones.

Well the spark has been initiated. Who knows if this flame will burn. Will Travel Girl return to the big city? If she does, please let American Idiot be still playin' on Broadway. That's all i want for Christmas kay?

I want to go to there.

ps: I'm using an iPad image so you know it is the future me and that i am real.

My Education in Manhattan

I have to admit, i get nervous around museums. It's either love it or hate it, there's just no grey area in between. Sometimes i just don't get stuff that gets put in there. How can a 4x4 canvas of blue paint be considered important piece of art? Even my history class doodles in college looked a hell lot more exciting than that.

However, i'm happy to say that the museums i went to in new york were pretty darn fascinating. I felt like i was cramming my 4 years of science education in one visit to the American Museum of Natural History and felt absolutely insignificant watching the tom hanks 3D "Passport To The Universe" show at the Hayden Planetarium.

MOMA was huuuggggeeee. Floors and floors of endless painting, sculptures, designs, art. If only i could just tuned everyone else out and not have to nudge my way to the front just to have a short peek at the Salvador Dali before my prime position time was up and had to move on. *Shove shove*

Imagine living in a place where these priceless sightings are only a subway ride away. Imagine being in school and talking about that great painting of Picasso ... oh hang on kids, why don't we just go and see it for ourselves???

Lucky bastards.
